Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week! Our week was crazy and heart breaking. Kai fractured his arm yesterday, and my mommy heart is broken in a million pieces. I feel so bad and wish I could fix it. We are heading to the doctor today to get a hard cast, and I'm praying that he won't have to keep it on for long and that his healing time will be short.
We were at the hospital for about 3 hours yesterday and these two were rock stars. Kona sang to Kai, colored him pictures, fed him snacks and shared his apple juice. As much as my heart hurt for Kai, I was so proud of them.

Even though we had a rough ending to our week, the beginning of our week was great! Our Memorial Day was super fun and we had the best time eating watermelon, having a water gun fight and Kai had his first ice cream cone. It's safe to say he loved it! I'm so thankful for such wonderful memories with my favorite boys. Days like these fill my heart with so much happiness and love.

Wine spritzers are our favorite summer drink, and this week we had our first glass! We make these all summer long and love how light and bubbly they are.
To make them you'll need:
White wine
Sparkling water (This weekend we used watermelon flavored sparkling water and it was really good!)
7-up, Sprite, or Fresca
Fresh fruit and Ice
I apologize that I don't have exact measurements, I just start pouring until it tastes right. :) I would say it's half a glass of wine and equal parts sparkling water and sprite.
I'm always looking for new recipes to try and would love to hear your favorite summer drink!

Three
This Sally Hansen fingernail polish is my new favorite. I painted my nails on Saturday and only a few are starting to chip. It usually lasts a week or more before it starts chipping really bad.

12 years ago yesterday, J.D. and I went on our first date! I love him so much and can't imagine walking through life without him. He is the one I tell everything to, the one who has stood by my side through my darkest days, the one who helps me make my dreams come true and the one who brings me coffee in bed. My 17 year old heart, knew what it was doing, the day I agreed to a movie and ice cream!

I hope everybody has a wonderful weekend!

P.S. Did anybody watch the finale of the Amazing Race last night? I was a little bummed that the team I was rooting for didn't win.

  1. Oh no! I'm sorry he got hurt! That is hard on the Mom, as well. I hope it's a quick recovery.
